# Pareto front

I've vaguely hinted around the place that I'm sceptical that collapsing all concerns to a 1-D measure like "money" or "exergy" will work as desired because things are inherently multidimensional. I've made a start at explaining some of the issues with a page on the Pareto front.

Looks cool!

There's some problem here in your page:

<object data="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b7/Front_pareto.svg" type="image/svg+xml"></object>

<img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b7/Front_pareto.svg/640px-Front_pareto.svg.png" width="640" height="480" />

The last one seems to work, the first two not.

I left the first two on there for a while in case Andrew Stacey gets to have a look and let me konw if the'res some change that would make SVG images work. I don't understand whether SVG should be used on webpages or only bitmapped PNGs generated from the SVG -- looks like even Wikipedia uses PNGs. I'll remove them after a couple of days if Andrew hasn't figured a solution.

(I'm also aware that wikipedia's diagram is for decrease=better outputs whilst page is written for increase=better. Pondering which one to change.)

I don't understand how SVG works on Instiki. There's some information here but it's over my head and not obviously relevant. It has an example of an SVG graphic, though.
