I've accepted an invitation to speak at the next winter meeting of the Canadian Mathematical Society, in Montreal. It's a public lecture at the start of the meeting, so I hope there will be a big crowd. It's on the evening of 4 December 2015.
I think this could be a good chance to improve the public lecture I gave in Sheffield for a meeting of the British Mathematical Society:
(That's when I met David Tweed and Jim Stuttard!)
People enjoyed that lecture - but I think it's important to get more specific about how mathematicians can help make the Anthropocene a better place.
The basic format of presenting the scary reality and then proposing things to do about it seems okay.
