Paul you yourself showed me the Himalaya's **sink** for temperature change (other sea surface regions as well) in my Laplacian flux plot video, which makes your statements above not true in general.

It seems from the animated plots of surface temperature flux that there are regions quite dormant (little variation in flux) and suddenly in the middle a sink of some kind appears!
