We've had lectures on manufacturing, and chemistry + scheduling, but how about manufacturing and scheduling?
Manufacturing has 3 layers. In terms of Chapter 2, they are Recipe, Schedule (Plan in the diagram below), and Reality (what happened) or Observations (what was reported about what happened). And all three layers are similar, in parallel, and interconnected top to bottom to top. The Schedule is generated from the Recipe, and Reality tries to follow the Schedule, but often fails.
How would all those relationships be represented in Category Theory? I'd be happy with hand-wavy pointers or full solutions, but don't expect full solutions.
