The current Michael Mann paper is out in Nature and is entitled [“Absence of internal multidecadal and interdecadal oscillations in climate model simulations”](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-13823-w). This is under some scrutiny because Mann's apparent claim is that the longer cycles of AMO (and PDO) are more likely noise or forced by anthropogenic sources such as aerosols than intrinsic to the ocean.

I may have misinterpreted what he is saying, but Mann coined the term AMO so have to take it seriously. What I did yesterday was post the results of modeling AMO using essentially the same forcing as ENSO (the same forcing applies to PDO).
